After a long summer of my boss not allowing me to go on wild fires, I got to help out with a prescribed burn. Here is the Uncompahgre Prescribed Burn going strong at 500+ acres. This is the view from up near the school bus. What was going to be one day watching an areal light and directing any traffic, turned into almost a week of digging line, back burning, bone piling, gridding for spots, and avoiding falling aspens. Fun, fun, fun!
